Möbelfakta Certificate

Möbelfakta Certificate

This product is certified with the Swedish sustainability and quality label, meeting their three requirements; quality, environment and social responsibility.

The first aspect tests the products durability to meet the demands on furniture in public environments.

The environmental aspect ensure that the product’s components are sourced from sustainable sources and that harmful chemicals are minimised or completely avoided.

The last parameter, social responsibility assures the conditions prevailing during production and relates to human rights, labour law issues, environment and corruption.

For cleaning of wooden surfaces, advantageously use a detergent, or mild pH neutral detergent and lukewarm water in a well wrung cloth. Then wipe off with clean water and wipe dry.
To preserve the look and finish you should be aware not to use:
– Alkaline or aggressive cleaners,
– Solvent
– Preparations containing abrasives,
– Abrasive tools.
Remember not to let the cleaners or other liquids on the surface for long. For furniture and surfaces for use in public spaces, it is also important to remember not to use disinfectants that contain a high concentration of alcohol or alkaline substances, such as 70% alcohol. There are disinfectants that can be advantageously used, but that does not affect the painted / varnished surface appreciably. Note that freshly painted surfaces are susceptible to scratching. Surface final resistance is only achieved after about a month. Tape and other foreign substances such as, for example, adhesive and moisturizers can soften the treated surface and cause peeling /paint drop. For cleaning of the fabric/leather, see instructions related to the specific fabric/leather in use.

Rose Chair

“It was a challenge to find perfect geometry and balance in the bending process without the material fracturing. The certification is proof that we have succeeded in giving Rose a construction which is as strong as its design”
- Chris Martin

Rose Chair collection

About the collection

Rose petals fall to the ground before withering, while the color is still at its loveliest, the fragrance at its strongest. Why this waste of beauty? The “Rose Chair” from 2018 is composed of four flower petals – layer-glued and pressed to shape, made to precisely and accurately fill each other in, and assembled without a single screw.

Magnus Elebäck, Massproductions’ CEO and Co-founder, had said: now we can afford to make something that might not sell in huge volumes. Chris Martin, Co-Founder of Massproductions and designer of Rose Chair, had been pondering an idea for a chair for months, and suddenly it was clear. Chris Martin, cultivated the concept of the Rose Chair through the exploration of opportunities and limitations of creating forms through layer-glued wood.

Two things can be said about Rose’s origins: she would not have been what she became without one of the world’s biggest 3D printers, which is in Jönköping. While rose petals are fallen to build the chair, the hope is that the Rose Chair has qualities that give her a long or eternal life.

Rose Chair is certified with “Möbelfakta” – the Swedish sustainability and quality label. As part of the certification, the Rose Chair had durability tested to meet the demands on furniture in the public environment. The Rose Chair underwent a load test which is repeated 100,000 times, where a weight of 100 kg loads the seat and 30 kg loads the backrest. Despite its sculptural, compact form, the chair passed the test with no defects.
