FACE LIFT

Massproductions’ Face Lift is a concept that aims to simplify the care and restoration of customers’ existing furniture. The Face Lift concept includes a global network of recommended upholsterers, but also several guides on how to best preserve and care for furniture made of different materials.

“If we make the craft more visible and accessible, I hope we lower the threshold for and caring for a piece of furniture. Of course not just Massproductions products, but that it should be used for all furniture”.

– MAGNUS ELEBÄCK,
CEO OF MASSPRODUCTIONS

Massproductions wants to prevent customers from throwing away fully functional furniture, because the upholstery has worn, stained or become obsolete. Today, the Face Lift network contains recommended upholsterers in 16 different markets, but over time the network will expand and in more areas such as surface treatment and carpentry will be added. With the network, Massproductions wants to encourage customers to find help locally.

As with all craftsmanship, restoration can be performed to varying quality. Massproductions has therefore selected skilled upholsterers with solid know-how.

THE UPHOLSTERY NETWORK

“Upholsterers are a profession that we must cherish. They take care of our furniture and give them a new life, while we save on nature’s resources. Upholstered furniture can be built in different ways. Massproductions builds furniture where the construction must withstand very high stresses. Over time, the upholstery can become worn, outdated or have stains that are difficult to remove. This does not mean that the furniture has reached the end of its life. A visit to a skilled upholsterer can give furniture a second chance”.

– MAGNUS ELEBÄCK,
CEO OF MASSPRODUCTIONS

THE CROWN JEWELS

When Massproductions received eight worn and dirty Crown Armchairs from a project earlier this year, they took the opportunity to give them new life. The purpose was to inspire customers to express their personality and show the possibilities of restoration. They contacted four artists who were commissioned to interpret the used chairs and make it their own.
