No its not boring or rigid – its safe and reassuring. Nobody is saying that you can’t go crazy, we are just saying that you can compartmentilise those outbursts into ordered segments on the wall. File it, store it, archive it or display it, Gridlock is the framework you need to get a cluttered life in order.
A wall-mounted shelf can dominate a room, whilst at the same time, become an integrated part of the room’s architecture rather than a piece of furniture. Therefore, both detail and overall appearance play an important role.

The cantilevered shelves lock in to the uprights with a specially designed fitting that holds them securely in place. So you make a “grid” and you “lock” the shelves in place. Gridlock – get it? Of course you do! Gridlock is no longer only an annoying traffic situation.
A custom fitting detail in the vertical elements adjusts laterally for more leeway during assembly.

When you have decided where to place your shelves, screw in four shelf screws into the corresponding inserts, the shelf then drops in at an angle with the back screws first. Then pull the front edge of the shelf downwards and it should drop onto the front screws with a satisfying “clunk-click” action.

The system can be used to form either strict or staggered grids with spacings according to your specific needs. Shelves come in two depths and you can even add a desk element for the ever more important home office solution. In the future we will be adding drawer units to the system. We are not holding back on this one.
Gridlock is offered in a choice of 3 finishes, Natural, White or Black stained Ash. I thought it would be nice to have a wall mounted storage system made only with wooden panels, I hope you will agree – Magnus does (the other co-founder and CEO of Massproductions).
No product is complete these days without some fancy schmancy app or web based thingy. So Gridlock is supported by an “online configurator” (works best if you say it with a robot voice). Using this allows you to plan and price your desired storage solution to your exact needs and available wall space. Actually, the configurator is not at all a gimmick, it’s a very useful tool to help you build your Gridlock shelving solution.
Massproductions first showcased the system at the ”Gridlock” exhibition during 3DaysofDesign in Copenhagen starting June 7th.
