On February 7th, Sven-Harry’s Art Museum and Massproductions hosted an exclusive pre-opening night for the exhibition Massproductions – Sculptures from the Factory.

The event was attended by design and art enthusiasts, who were treated to a memorable evening. The exhibition aimed to delve into the relationship between art and industry, while unveiling the mysterious “x-factor” that sets exceptional design apart. The unique sculptures on display were a testament to the exhibition’s theme.

The exhibition featured playful and artistic installations that shed light on the questions surrounding the relationship between industrial production and art.

Mortality,
Rose Chair

Rose petals fall to the ground before withering, whilst their colour is still at its loveliest, their fragrance at its strongest. Why this waste of beauty?

The “Rose Chair” from 2018 is composed of four flower petals – layer-glued and pressed to shape, made to precisely and accurately fill each other in, and assembled without a single screw.

Magnus had said: now we can afford to make something that might not sell in huge volumes. Chris had been pondering an idea for a chair for months, and suddenly it was clear.

Two things can be said about Rose’s origins: she would not have been what she became without one of the world’s largest 3D printers. And while rose petals may be falling here in the exhibition, the hope is that the Rose Chair has qualities that give her a long or eternal life.

Falling from the ceiling: 72 rose petals that could become 18 Rose Chairs – alive, but immortal.

The exhibition design was created by Paul Vaugoyeau. Clara Block Hane contributed to the exhibition with her writing skills and the design agency Figur was responsible for the graphic design.

In addition to the exhibition, the visitors could also participate in a hands-on workshop where they could build their very own 4PM Self Build. The workshop was led by expert instructors.
