We are proud to announce that we have won the Media Award from RUM Magazine for Designer of the Year 2017!
After winning a producer of the year award in December this combination of awards acknowledges the strength of our company structure. Taking control of the production process allows us to perfectionate all designs to meet demands for aesthetics, quality and durability. As the name suggests, we base our furniture on the foundation of modernism: mass production results in the best products. From tools to materials, everything can be chosen to adhere to sustainability aims, efficiency, and meaningful design that reaches out to people.
“I think I’m my own toughest critic. I want to do things that are new and exciting, but at the same time feel useful and fit the world we live in. There is an existing struggle between these two opposites, which sometimes makes it tricky to design new products.”
Since our launch in 2009 with the Tio range we have been rapidly expanding. With over 12 product families (and counting) in 2017, our collection has grown steadily over the years. Inspiration often came from the most unexpected places, the more unusual the better the results Chris claims.
“The idea for the Mega couch came to me because foam reminded me of bread dough. At a bakery I saw a batch of freshly baked loaves of bread pressed against metal wire which appealed to me. An idea was born and it resulted in a collection of couches and armchairs.”
2017 is going to be another year filled with exciting design and production opportunities, and being granted this award makes for a great start!
